Welcome

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

Treat Yourself Better

Recent studies have shown that patients often underestimate the length of time it takes to get better from common ailments. This means the NHS services are being used unnecessarily, as patients seek medical intervention too soon.

  • You can expect symptoms of a cough to last for up to 3 weeks.
  • You can expect symptoms of a cold to last for around 1½ weeks.
  • You can expect symptoms of a sore throat to last for around 1 week.

Most symptoms of a cough, cold, sore throat will normally get better in 3 weeks and won’t be a sign of something more serious. You can treat yourself better during this time without needing to be seen by a Nurse or GP. Visit your local pharmacy for advice and over the counter medication. It is a good idea to always have a supply of pain relief (such as paracetamol) and cold/flu medicines at home in case you feel unwell.
